As life gets more hectic it's great to take inspiration from history and go back to a time when ladies were truly ladies of leisure. And what could be more inspirational than High Tea. This meal that was soon to become the height of fashion amongst ladies of substance and style, was invented by Anna, The Duchess of Bedford. Anna, the original IT girl, used to get a little peckish between lunch and supper and, being a trend setter she decided to invent a new social occassion by ordering beautiful sweet mouthfulls of cake and dainty sandwiches to enjoy with her girlfriends in the afternoon, all served with the finest quality tea. At Bij Babette, we believe that this is one tradition that should be kept at the forefront of fashion. That's why we have a range of creative High Tea's to tempt you. Currently Bij Babette has The Classic our traditional High tea, The Royal Tea, inspired by dishes served to Royals over the ages, The Dames Chic for those fashionistas out there, the gentlemans high tea for those who prefer savoury food, the Young Ladies High tea for girls betqween the ages of 11 and 14 and last but not least Henri's high Tea especially designed for children up to the age of eleven.
